New License Plate
Finally got around to getting California license plates the other day and whoa hold on what’s this? You mean I can use stars and hearts on my custom plates? Are there actually so many people in this state that they cannot be differentiated among using only numbers and letters? And are dingbats really the most dignified solution? I suppose it befits a state ruled by the iron fist of a bodybuilder cum action-movie star, but I’d have thought a noble dash of Sanskrit or even Nooksack glyphs would have lent the plates a welcome touch of class. (Although it’s likely irresponsible fiscal governance to educate the local polizia and traffic wardens in a language they’ll rarely find cause to use off-duty.)
