I Gave You All The Reefer

I’ve been listening to a lot of 60’s Soul and Girl Group lately. The Girl Group especially I just can’t get enough of. I don’t know why. Anyway, here are a couple of songs to tide you over until I can find the time to actually write something.

The first is an instructional dieting song by The Fabulettes. It’s on the amazing One Kiss Can Lead to Another: Girl Group Sounds, Lost and Found box set.

Try the Worryin’ Way [mp3]

The second is a song L found on a Jackie Wilson album I had. She’s been wanting me to “blog it” (her words!) for weeks, so here goes. It’s from 1965. This one’s for you baby. (Oh, and you might want to keep the volume down if you’re at work. Unless you work at a swear factory.)

Think Twice (Version X) [mp3]

Man, I could turn this site into a music blog so fast…

Mojave 3

I just stood in line behind Mojave 3 at the Apple Store. At first I thought they were German backpackers, but when I found out who they were I asked if they needed a backup drummer, just in case? And to show ‘em what I’ve got I started tapping out some mad beats on the countertop, occasionally using a nearby iMac as a crash cymbal. You could tell they were impressed.
