Internet Explorer 7 Acronym / Abbr Text-Indent Bug
This post really belongs on my design site, but since that site’s not built yet, and since I couldn’t find the solution to this problem on Google, I’ll put it here to get indexed.
Basically, I just had a problem where I was using a negative text-indent to hide text during image replacement, only some of the text wouldn’t indent in Internet Explorer 7. Turns out I had some <abbr> tags in the text I was indenting, and for some reason that prevented IE 7 from indenting it at all.
The solution is to specify text-indent for the <abbr> or <acronym> tags as well.
How is this funny?

Look, if you wanna build me a design site in your spare time where I can talk about these geeky kinds of things, be my guest.
And anyway I find the
<abbr>tag hilarious.Comment by Feaverish — April 17, 2007 @ 7:45 am
Sorry, that one kind of came off as more mean than anything.
Funnily enough (this is not going to be funny) I have been thinking about wanting designery posting place recently too. It’s not like I’ve got the time or willpower. Why do I do this to myself?
WHY?

I know, I know. I’ve got plans for a music site and a design site, but I don’t know how I’ll find the time to manage those, this blog, and my erotic webcam site all at once. It’s overwhelming, frankly.
